Your current chain: State of matter Life > Kingdom Chromista
(From Wikipedia) Chromista is a proposed but polyphyletic biological kingdom consisting of single-celled and multicellular eukaryotic species that share similar features in their photosynthetic organelles (plastids). It includes all eukaryotes whose plastids contain chlorophyll c and are surrounded by four membranes.
FACT: It is sometimes argued that chromists don't actually have a single common ancestor, but rather are a bunch of different convergently-evolved groups of organisms that may have shared their plastids between each other!
