FACT: This species' common name comes from its importance in creating sago, which is a starch extracted from palm and cycad cores that many cultures use in cooking!
Author's Note: This is a good example of how some of my rules for including plants work. This is an obviously cultivated, non-native species, but I know for a fact that it hasn't been watered and maintained at all, which means that it's capable of surviving here even if it doesn't belong.
